Nineteen seconds of chaos: a strip-sack, a botched punt, and Allen's winner

The Jets beat the Browns 17-12 in a fourth quarter that belonged in a blooper reel. With 4:20 left, Geno Smith was strip-sacked at the Cleveland 48 — a minus-0.366 win-probability swing that handed the Browns the game. Nineteen seconds later, Cleveland punter Corey Bojorquez botched the snap, the Jets recovered at the 28, and Braelon Allen rumbled 22 yards for the winning touchdown at the 3:01 mark.

That's two season-altering plays in 19 seconds, and Cleveland authored both halves of the disaster. Deshaun Watson was sacked eight times behind a line that treated pass protection as a suggestion, finishing 15-of-33 for 155 yards. His one bright spot — a 29-yard touchdown to Denzel Boston with 6:15 left — was immediately wasted.

Allen carried 24 times for 116 yards and did what good running backs do: he ended it. Garrett Wilson added seven catches for 104 yards and a score. The Jets are flawed, but on Sunday they were the team that didn't botch a punt snap at the worst possible moment, and sometimes that's the whole sport.
