Falcons run for five TDs; Saints’ last score came down 28

Bijan Robinson needed 86 seconds to go 59 yards and end the competitive portion of the afternoon. The opening touchdown was less a drive and more of an announcement: this is how today is going to go.

Atlanta rushed for 205 yards and five touchdowns, never turned the ball over, and led 45-17 before New Orleans scored with 73 seconds left — a touchdown thrown by backup Tyler Shough, which tells you everything about when the Saints stopped trying to win and started trying to look better. Mission partially accomplished: 24 looks much better than 17, right up until you remember the other team hung 45.

The Falcons didn't just win; they imposed their will so thoroughly that the fourth quarter was a scrimmage. New Orleans got run over all afternoon by an offense that never had to be creative. When you rush for five touchdowns and don't turn it over, you don't need creativity. You need a victory formation — which Atlanta got to practice early.
