Burrow's four touchdowns survive a fourth-quarter Miami mirage

Joe Burrow threw four touchdown passes on just 190 yards — efficiency so ruthless it barely needed the second half — as Cincinnati beat Miami 31-24. Ja'Marr Chase's 45-yard touchdown with 39 seconds left in the third quarter made it 28-10, and at that point the Dolphins were cooked, plated, and served.

Then came the fourth quarter, when Malik Willis threw a touchdown, ran for another, and turned a blowout into a seven-point final that will fool exactly no one who watched. Willis also threw two interceptions — Jordan Battle collected both — and fumbled twice. The late scores were garnish on a game Cincinnati controlled.

The Bengals won the EPA battle 13.3 to 2.1, which is the statistical equivalent of a shrug. Evan McPherson's 26-yarder with 2:09 left kept the margin honest after Miami's flurry. The Dolphins' comeback deserves credit the way a participation trophy deserves a shelf: nice gesture, wrong game.

Key stat: Cincinnati: +13.3 total EPA (0.17 per play) to Miami's +2.1
