blowoutLions score 31 straight to bury Arizona 45-21 after spotting them seven
Arizona scored first, led 7-0, and then watched Detroit score 31 unanswered points in a 45-21 laugher. The Lions hung 24 on the Cardinals in the second quarter alone — Jared Goff threw two touchdowns in the period, Jahmyr Gibbs ran for 151 yards on the day, and Jameson Williams caught two scores.
Goff finished 19-of-30 for 271 yards and three touchdowns, adding a 1-yard rushing score for style points. Detroit's 23.4 total EPA at 0.29 per play says the offense was basically a printing press; Arizona's minus-6.4 says the Cardinals were the paper.
Jacoby Brissett threw for 292 yards and three touchdowns, which looks respectable until you notice most of it came with the game already decided — the football equivalent of mopping the floor after the flood. The Cardinals' opening touchdown drive bought them five minutes of hope and 55 minutes of education.
